Colin is my third drum instructor and is light years better than the first two. I've been taking lessons with Colin for about 14 months and my playing has improved at least 50%. He's the perfect teacher for me. He challenges me but also allows me time to think and practice. He loves playing the drums and he loves teaching. He's patient and is a thoughtful listener. He has helped me with my lack of confidence and pushed me to play music I didn't think I could play. He also treats me like a fellow human, which is particulary important to me because as a woman I've faced a lot of discrimination from male drummers/male teachers. He also loves music, which is the whole reason I play the drums at all. I feel very fortunate to study with a such a talented and kind person.

Colin has been my son Henry's drum instructor for about the past three years, since Henry was eight years old. Henry has grown a great deal during this time as a drummer and seems years ahead of some high schoolers I hear. Colin teaches solid basic drumming skills and makes it fun and interesting at the same time. He is clearly an expert drummer in several musical genres and really effectively imparts his ideas about skill development to his students. When you have time, check out his YouTube drum lesson videos. They're amazing.

Colin has been coming to our house to give Gavin, my 13-year-old, drum lessons for over three years. He had been instrumental in keeping Gavin interested and excited about drumming. He has taught him songs ranging from Green Day to Led Zeppelin. He is a fantastic instructor!

Colin is a very patient instructor. His lessons are well organized and easy to follow. Also with 2 drum sets, student can play on one and Colin uses the other one to show or play with, this helps student learn faster and easier.

Colin is an amazing drummer, an awe-inspiring teacher, and a good friend. This guy brought me up from a stick-slipping, clumsy and energy hogging drum beater to a flam chopping, polyrhythm generating, linear filling, smooth drummer in a span of two years.
When I started taking lessons from him, I didn' t know I had formed bad habits that I was overlooking. I was wasting a lot of energy on small tasks which was hampering my timing, speed and durability on the kit. He opened my mind and taught me how the placing of the stick, movement of the hands, the bounce of the legs, sequencing of the limbs etc. can make a huge difference in your playing. There were no strict rules, but what would have worked best for me. And I started seeing wonders.
His approach to teaching is very logical as he focuses a lot on what the student wants to learn and then designs lessons on it. The lessons are very easy to comprehend, slowly building up your speed, timing, independence and dynamics. I wanted to learn and improve on specific styles like linear drumming, polyrhythms and fills, which with his help I now understand and apply easily to the kit.
Colin is patient like a monk, he listens to you, practices with you and never gives up on you, no matter how many mistakes you make( which I tend to make a lot ;)) and for how long. He's willing to help and easy to talk to. You can geek out with him about drumming and music for hours.
He's also very tall and kind. So, get this guy.

My child was diagnosed with autism at 2 years old and after witnessing his love for music we decided to enroll him in drum lessons as soon as he was old enough. Colin was and is a blessing for our son. If you are thinking of lessons Colin is the absolute best at what he does. We highly recommend him!
